The Flames Welcome Back Ryan Lomberg

Ryan Lomberg is back with the Calgary Flames on a two-year deal worth $2 million per season. This move is a homecoming for Lomberg, who started his NHL career in Calgary.

Lomberg is a 29-year-old left-winger from Richmond Hill, and is known for his up-tempo, physical playstyle.

History

His journey to the NHL included time in the USHL with the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Youngstown Phantoms, as well as a couple of years of college hockey at the University of Maine. He later signed an AHL deal with the Stockton Heat in 2015, which led to an NHL entry-level deal with the Flames in 2017. Though he only played seven NHL games with the Flames over two seasons, he found a better fit with the Florida Panthers.

In Florida, Lomberg became a key bottom-six player over four seasons. His best offensive year was 2022-23, with 12 goals and 20 points.

Having a player that defeated the Oilers is sure to bring a smile to many Flames fans.
